Rule-of-thumb figures. Real generation depends on your roof direction, shading and season; we confirm them at the site survey.

A 3 kW system suits many homes in Kottayam and central Kerala, on a tiled roof, a concrete terrace or a sheet roof over the terrace. It's also the size at which a home gets the full central subsidy, which makes it good value for families with moderate KSEB bills.

Kerala's generation follows the weather: strong from January to May, lower through the two monsoons. Treat the figures on this page as a yearly average; we confirm them from your bills and roof at the site survey.

Who a 3 kW system suits

  • Homes with a KSEB bill of around ₹2,700 a month
  • Families using fans, lights, a fridge, a well pump and one AC part of the day
  • Houses with about 300 sq ft of shade-free roof
  • Homeowners who want the maximum subsidy for the lowest investment

Things to consider

  • If your bill is well above ₹2,700 a month, or you plan to add ACs or an EV charger, a 5 kW system may suit you better.
  • Coconut palms and nearby trees can shade a roof in the morning or evening. We place panels where they get the most sun.
  • Tiled, concrete and sheet roofs each need a different structure. We choose the one that keeps your roof watertight.
